7th Pay Commission Latest News: The 50 lakh Central Government employees who were waiting for an announcement for a hike in minimum pay and fitment factor beyond 7th Pay Commission recommendations on August 15, will most likely get a good news in January 2019, a report said. The belief of the Central Government employees has gained momentum with Arun Jaitley resuming office as the Finance Minister. Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see whether or not Centre will agree to the demands of the Central Government employees of 3.68 times hike in fitment factor and up to Rs 8,000 increase in the minimum pay.
Meanwhile, the reports that the Centre may announce a hike in minimum pay and fitment factor in January does not hold too much base following what Minister of Finance (MoS) P Radhakrishnan announced in March. He had declared that the Centre is not considering a hike in minimum pay and fitment factor beyond 7th Pay Commission for 50 lakh Central Government employees and retirees.
Arun Jaitley resumed the charge as Finance Minister when the government is busy planning the strategy for the Lok Sabha elections 2019 which is why the reports of him considering a hike in minimum pay and fitment factor beyond 7th Pay Commission recommendations for Central Government employees are doing rounds.
Meanwhile, in a welcome move, the governments of Bihar, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Puducherry, Haryana have started providing the benefits of 7th Pay Commission to their employees
