Dear Brother,

Sub: Initial pay fixation of re-employed ex-servicemen who held posts below Commissioned Officer Rank in Defence Forces, retired before attaining the age of 55 years and have been appointed on re-employment basis in civilian posts in Railways etc – reg.

Ref: (i) General Secretary/NFIR’s letter No. II/35/Part XIV dated 21/12/2017.

(ii) General Seeretary/NFIR’s letter No. II/35/Part XIV dated 29/01/2018 addressed to the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India.

(iii) PMO ID No. PMOPG/D/2018/0044515 dated 02/02/2018 addressed to the Secretary, DoP&T and copy to the Federation.

(iv) NFIR’ s letter No. 11/35/2018 dated 11/04/2018 to Secretary, MoD.

I met Joint Secretary (Personnel), DoP&T at North Block, Room No. 111 this day (25th April, 2018) and explained the contents of DoP&T Memorandum dated 18th October, 2017 and Federation’s suggestions to the Ministry of Defence as well DoP&T vide references cited above. Copies of relevant papers were also handed over to the Joint Secretary, (Personnel). After discussion, the JS (Pers)/DoP&T has assured to get the case expedited.

Affiliates may apprise the above development to the re-employed ex-servicemen in the Railways.
