Govt employees up ante over 7th pay panel benefits

JAIPUR: The Rajasthan Rajya Karmachari Samyukt Mahasangh on Sunday released a protest calendar to agitate against the state government if it doesn't implement the 7th Pay Commission recommendations and fulfill their other demands

The employee's union will conduct a voting on January 16 seeking a mandate to go on a strike and shut down the functioning of government.
As per the schedule, the union will hand over a memorandum to chief minister Vasundhara Raje through district collectors. It will be followed by protests in Jaipur and other districts where employees will be encouraged to participate in voting. Simultaneously, the union leaders will tour all over the state to muster support for the movement.

According the office bearers, if the government fails to meet their demands, then they would pass a resolution against the government on December 12.
On January 16, a voting will be conducted and based on the result, a complete strike will be announced. "We will boycott work if the government does not meet out demands," said Tej Singh Rathore, general secretary of the organisation.

The union leaders said the central government has not only implemented the 7th Pay Commission recommendations, but has also given bonus and arrears of the last two years to its employees. However, the state government has given its employees only bonus and no arrears.

Besides, they said the government has not announced when the 7th Pay Commission recommendations would be implemented in the state.
